Greater Than Expectations signature program, Audacity to Succeed, supports youth ages 15-18 with programming that focuses on life skills, college and career planning, goal setting, and financial literacy.

The Operation A.I.M (Adults, Inspired and Motivated) target group is Greater Than Expectations alum who have aged out of Audacity to Succeed. The program provides continued support as alum age out of the foster care system and transition into adulthood. This program is for youth ages 18-23 with a focus on career planning, interview skills, and/or college transition and completion support.

Defying the Odds is a web series that allows the public to hear real stories from foster alumni. In this where-are-they-now focused series you will hear directly from those impacted by the foster care system. These are the real stories of challenge and triumph that ultimately lead GTE youth on a path to be Greater Than Expectations.

Freshman Fresh is Greater Than Expectations’ signature college transition program supporting students from foster care backgrounds as they begin their first year at UNT Denton. In partnership with UNT’s PUSH Program, Freshman Fresh goes beyond Move-In Day by offering mentorship, life-skills support, workshops, and community-building opportunities throughout the year. Now entering its fourth year of impact in 2026, the program helps students build confidence, belonging, independence, and the support needed to thrive in college and beyond.
